Baseball has been and will always be America’s Pastime. It’s earned that title and it will keep that title, no matter. what. With that said, just because baseball is America’s Pastime doesn’t mean that it has to be the most popular sport in the United States. People love to talk about how football get’s higher ratings week in and week out, which is 100 true. As a spectator sport football will always rayne supreme. With that said though, comparing baseball to football is like comparing apples to oranges. Football get’s higher ratings because of the fact that team’s play only once a week, 16 weeks a year.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . With baseball being played everyday for seven months out of the year, people are not going to tune in in droves every single game.
While it definitely has it’s flaws, baseball remains the sport that most people tend to relate to America. It’s the sport that father’s teach their son’s as they grow up, and those son’s will teach their own offspring baseball when they grow up. Baseball is America’s Pastime not just for what it is today, but also for what it was. It’s a history that truly makes up what baseball is for America.
